2004

A group of us venture out sketching once a month exploring East Anglia and the Suffolk Coast. The giant clam (see image in ‘Diverse’ section of prints) is the result of a recent visit to Ipswich Museum, as well as the abstracted image of the reflected light in the entrance hall (see ‘originals’).

I continue to return constantly to Hollesley woods near Woodbridge to capture the changing light of the seasons in this lovely corner of Suffolk. ‘The Survivors’ (see Trees and Nature and Originals) is based on the strength of pines left standing despite the force of the 1987 storm. I am looking forward to spending some time studying the ancient trees in Staverton Thicks on the road to Orford as a new project.

My work is not limited to East Anglia and I often venture north to explore the different light.
